LIMINALE is a live performance designed and created specifically for Zoom. 10 Cornish students have been working with Alice Gosti and MALACARNE this semester, creating this unique live performance. Each artist will be streaming directly from their personal spaces, using environments, furniture and memory as inspirations for the movement material. This unique Zoom live performance, encourage the audience to participate actively and to become co-creators of the performance. This project takes on the condition of confinement, transforming living space into creative space. Activating memories and everyday objects, LIMINALE unveils surprising movements inspired by home.
Liminale was the product of one of the first digital residency experiments during COVID-19. Created with HOME : Centro Creazione Coreografica 2020. It culminated in interactive live-stream performances that transported audiences into performers private spaces. Joined by Attendees from Europe, North and South American the first liminale integrated 7 performers using Zoom technology, while elevating togetherness, a universal theme across MALACARNE’s work.
Liminale was born as a necessity to continue to create work and experiment with virtual platforms during the covid-19 pandemic. Thank you for joining us on this experiment.
